It is important to choose a quality wood. Hardwoods are so named because they come from trees with more growth and are often used to build luxury furniture.
Hardwoods are found mostly in North America. Its use, thanks to its great hardness and resistance, is usually structural and constructive, although it is also used for furniture. Colors range from greyish white to walnut brown.
Among the hardwoods we find oak, walnut, cherry, olive, chestnut, elm and holm oak. All of them are very resistant, they adapt to adverse conditions such as high levels of humidity and temperature.




Red cedar logs are very good for building cabins because of the straight grains and resistance to decay, especially in harsh weather conditions. Due to the impressive insulating qualities of wood, it reduces cooling and heating costs in a cabin. This wood is, however, relatively low in strength and may not last as long. However, it is a very aromatic and soft wood.
Oak although it is a little more expensive and, therefore, it is not always an option for many people. However, it has very impressive qualities, including high resistance to age-related decay, wet weather, and is very strong and heavy that lasts longer. Oak logs are available in multiple colors, meaning you can choose from deep grainy reds and pale white browns. Oak is a strong and beautiful wood for log cabins.
